Can they uncover the fatal conspiracy and end the threat of a nuclear war?

'Maachis' is a true story inspired by the 1984 Sikh riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. The police started assaulting innocent Sikh families which led to many youths joining extremist groups to revolt against an oppressive regime. Kripal (Chandrachur Singh) lives peacefully with his best friend Jaswant (Raj Zutshi) and is in love with Jaswants's sister, Veeran (Tabu). Their peaceful life is disrupted when the police wrongfully arrest Jaswant and subject him to third degree torture. After several days, Jaswant returns but seeing his friend in a horrible and dreaded state, Kripal vows to take revenge against the police. Kripal joins an extremist group headed by a commander (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) which includes Sanatan (Om Puri) and Jaimal (Jimmy Shergill) who all are aching to burn down the government. How will innocent Kripal who has transformed into a dreaded terrorist go on to seek vengeance?

In the year 1971 the Indian army has been sent to a deserted place in Longewala region of Punjab to war with the Pakistani Army. Under the command of Major Kuldeep Singh (Sunny Deol), 120 Indian soldiers patrol the desert to keep a check on the Pakistani army. But the Pakistani battalion is over 2000 soldiers strong, consisting of war tanks and all the ammunition needed to crush the Indian army. Now, 120 soldiers have to hold an entire night against 2000 Pakistani soldiers till help arrives in the morning. The Higher command orders Major Kuldeep Singh to retreat as it was impossible to fight. Major Kuldeep Singh and his battalion refuse to fall back and stand their ground to fight hordes of enemies till death. With every soldier having a tale to tell, a family to love, they must protect their country at any cost and fight to supremacy and win the Indo-Pak war.

Javed (Jackie Shroff) and Arun (Shahrukh Khan), are Special Task Force officers and are after a drug lord, Krishan Kant Virmani, KKV (Nirmal Pandey). During a raid, Javed is killed under mysterious circumstances and Arun takes over the responsibility of looking after his four children. He also must solve the mystery of Javed's death and apprehend the people responsible for Javed's death. Arun seeks the help of Geetha (Juhi Chawla) to take care of Javed's children. The kids adore Geetha and Arun starts to fall in love with her. Soon things start to spiral out of control when Arun finds out that Geetha is leading a double life and he finds himself charged with drug-trafficking and bribery. Who is plotting against Arun and responsible for Javed's murder? What is the true identity of Geetha?

Although Karan and Kishan have been friends for years, they have grown apart and have little in common. The widower Karan is a poor mechanic who lives in a humble house in the countryside. Kishan is a rich man with a vast business empire and little time for old friends. However, when Karan prepares to work abroad and earn more money, he turns to Kishan to solve a problem. Will Kishan let Karan's daughter Suman (Bhagyashree) stay at his house? Kishan cannot turn down his old friend's request and Suman comes to live with his family. At first, country girl Suman is ill at ease in the huge mansion. She is befriended by Kishan's son Prem (Salman Khan), who assures her that he has no romantic interest in her and that a boy and a girl can be platonic friends. The pair share outings and confidences and all seems to be going well.
Then Prem takes Suman to a party, organized by some of his rich friends. They humiliate Suman and accuse her of scheming to marry Prem. Suman leaves in tears and distances herself from Prem. At that point, Prem suddenly realizes that he has fallen in love with her. With the aid of his mother (who likes the unassuming Suman) and his comic friend Manohar, Prem sets out to win Suman's heart. He succeeds, but Kishan balks at the romance, as he does not want his son to marry a poor nobody. He prepares to send Suman home in disgrace. At this unfortunate moment, Karan returns from overseas. Kishan accuses him of plotting to match Prem and Suman. Karan and Kishan quarrel, and Karan and Suman return to their village humiliated.
Prem refuses to accept the separation. He defies his father and is disinherited. He goes to Suman's village and begs to be allowed to marry her. Karan, angered by Kishan's accusations, says that he will allow the marriage on one condition: Prem must prove that he can support his wife by his own efforts. Prem then works as a truck driver and laborer in the nearby quarry. At the end of the month, when Prem is ready with the required money and comes to win over his lady's father, he is ambushed by his enemies. They nearly succeed in killing him, but he survives. Karan harshly dismisses Prem's efforts, but his stoic determination melts Karan's heart, and he agrees to let Suman marry Prem. By the end of the movie, the estrangement between Karan and Kishan has ended, too. Prem and Suman live happily ever after

Rajesh (Mohnish Bahl) runs the business for his dad, Kailashnath (Alok Nath), and is an eligible bachelor. The family wants him to marry Pooja Choudhury (Renuka Shahane), to which he agrees. With great gusto the families get together to plan the engagement and marriage ceremonies. At these ceremonies, Rajesh's younger brother, Prem (Salman Khan) meets Pooja's younger sister, Nisha (Madhur Dixit), and after a few meetings both fall in love with each other. After a few months, Pooja gives birth to a baby, but unfortunately, dies shortly thereafter. Rajesh is devastated, and the families get together and decide that it will be in the best interests of both the child and Rajesh, if Nisha were to take Pooja's place and marry Rajesh. Hence the title, simply translated means: What Is My Relationship With You? No doubt this question will linger in the minds of both Nisha and Prem, who are all set to face a new relationship

Premaanuragam is essentially about the love and affection shared between brothers and unity within a family. Ramkishen (Alok Nath) and his wife Mamta (Reema Lagoo) live with their three sons, Vivek (Mohnish Behl), Prem (Salman Khan), and Vinod (Saif Ali Khan). Prem and Vinod have sweethearts in Preeti and Sapna (Sonali Bendre and Karisma Kapoor), but the eldest son Vivek has always been shy and introverted due to a birth handicap. The family meets with Adarsh and his daughter Sangeeta (Rajeev Verma and Tabu), and decide to get Sangeeta and Vivek get married. Though Vivek protests in the beginning Sangeeta's love and devotion wins him over and they get married. After their wedding Mamta becomes insecure, assuming that Vivek (her step-son) would become selfish and take over the business and property. In order to protect Prem and Vinod, Mamta schemes with Dhanraj (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) to alienate Vivek from the property and inheritance. This divides the family, even though Vivek & Sangeeta accept Mamta's wishes and leave the house. Due to the unconditional love and respect for his elder brother, Prem quietly revolts against his mother's decision and changes her heart. Premaanuraagam restores faith in the Indian concept of a joint family and gives Indian cinema one of the most ideal characters in its history Vivek and Prem.

Langan includes footage of firefights and suicide bombers, as well as interviews with those who have taken up arms in an attempt to get the United States out of their country.

Anthony Scarpa's documentary Betty Blowtorch and Her Amazing True Life Adventures features music videos and live performances by the all-female punk band and charts their early end. In addition to the band members, the film features appearances by Vanilla Ice, Jennifer Finch, and Duff McKagan.

Oscar Winner: A documentary film depicting the harrowing battle between the U.S. Marines and the Japanese for control of the Pacific island of Tarawa. A brutal battle from the war in the Pacific was the basis of this unusually graphic documentary short.

While this film of one of the epic struggles of WWII is over 50 years old, it still delivers the drama of the battle fought by Russian soldiers and sailors to defend Leningrad. Codenamed "Operation Barbarrosa" by Hitler, the battle was truly horrific. This documentary, The Great Battle of the Volga, focuses on the bravery and suffering of the Russian soldiers as they endure the tremendous attack by the well-equipped German army. That they could regroup and fight back with such ferocity is depicted, along with the terrible destruction caused by the Germans.

Produced on behalf of the U.S. government, December 7th is just as slick and professional as any of director John Ford's "civilian" films. With the not inconsiderable contribution of cinematographer Gregg Toland, Ford literally recreates the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, and even manages to build up suspense by filming several scenes of the unsuspecting military personnel at work, play, and worship. So convincing were many of the attack scenes that they have since been excerpted in several documentaries, leading the more impressionable viewers to ponder why the film's cameramen were foresighted enough to have set up their equipment at the precise moment of the bombing! As originally intended, the film, narrated by Walter Huston, was a stern criticism of America's lack of preparedness at Pearl Harbor (the entire fleet were lined up like sitting ducks). The government didn't like this aspect of December 7th and ordered it removed; still, the remaining 34-minute docudrama (pared down from feature length) ended up winning an Academy Award.

Soviet director Dziga Vertov's experimental film grew out of his belief, shared by his editor, Elizaveta Svilova (who was also his wife), and his cinematographer, Mikhail Kaufman (also his brother), that the true goal of cinema should be to present life as it is lived. To that end, the filmmakers offer a day-in-the-life portrait of a city from dawn until dusk, though they actually shot their footage in several cities, including Moscow, Kiev, and Odessa. After an opening statement, there are no words in the film (neither voice-over nor titles), just dazzling imagery, kinetically edited - as a celebration of the modern city with a marked emphasis on its buildings and machinery. The Image Entertainment DVD edition of the film offers a musical score composed from notes left by the director, which adds greatly to the impact of the film

The 60-minute documentary was the fifth of the Army Special Service's "Why We Fight" series. Assembled under the supervision of Lt. Colonel Frank Capra, the film is a sublimely assembled collection of authentic newsreel footage from both the U.S. Signal Corps and various Soviet sources. Narrated by Anthony Veiller, Battle for Russia is designed to clarify the history of America's Russian allies to military and civilian audiences alike, and to emphasize the importance of Russo-American cooperation in defeating the Nazi juggernaut. The film's highlight is the siege of Stalingrad, alternately terrifying and awe-inspiring. The musical score was by Russian expatriate Dmitri Tiomkin, who'd previously collaborated with Capra on Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Lon Chaney stars as Erik, the Phantom, in what is probably his most famous and certainly his most horrifying role. Produced by Universal, the film shot in 1923 and shelved for nearly two years, and was subjected to intensive studio tinkering. While many expected a disaster, the film turned out to be a rousing success. It was both the stepping off point for Chaney's run as a superstar at MGM and the prototype for the horror film cycle at Universal in the 1930s. The story concerns Erik, a much-feared fiend who haunts the Paris Opera House. Lurking around the damp, dank passages deep in the cellars of the theater, he secretly coaches understudy Christine Daae (Mary Philbin) to be an opera star. Through a startling sequence of terrors, including sending a giant chandelier crashing down on the opera patrons, the Phantom forces the lead soprano to withdraw from the opera, permitting Christine to step in. Luring Christine into his subterranean lair below the opera house, the Phantom confesses his love. But Christine is in love with Raoul de Chagny (Norman Kerry). The Phantom demands that Christine break off her relationship with Raoul before he'll allow her to return to the opera house stage. She agrees, but immediately upon her release from the Phantom's lair, she runs into the arms of Raoul and they plan to flee to England after her performance that night. The Phantom overhears their conversation and, during her performance, the Phantom kidnaps Christine, taking her to the depths of his dungeon. It is left to Raoul and Simon Buquet (Gibson Gowland), a secret service agent, to track down the Phantom and rescue Christine.

Like many of Eisenstein's best films, Alexander Nevsky was conceived as a morale-booster, aimed at stirring up Russian patriotism. It is set in the 13th century, but the villainous Teutonic Knights are obviously meant to represent the burgeoning threat of Hitler's hordes. With Russia besieged by both these knights and by the Tartars, only a charismatic leader can save the populace from these barbaric baby killers (yes, we see the villains tossing screaming infants into bonfires!) The hero of the piece is the legendary Prince Alexander Nevsky, portrayed by Nikolai Cherkasov, who bears a striking resemblance to Gary Cooper. The saving turnaround for Nevsky is the battle of ice-covered Lake Peipus in 1242. This bravura sequence is staged in spectacular fashion, underlined by the specially-commissioned music of Sergei Prokofiev.

This adventure virtually butchers its source, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic novel. But with stop-motion photography and special effects that were incredibly innovative in 1924 and 1925, who cared? These effects were the whole film, and Wallace Beery's inspired performance was a bonus. The tale opens on reporter Edward Malone (Lloyd Hughes), who wants to marry Gladys Hungerford (Alma Bennett). Gladys, however, only wants to marry a man of great deeds. So Malone, having asked his editor for an adventuresome assignment, is given the task of interviewing Professor Challenger (Beery), who is planning an expedition to a "lost world." Malone accompanies Challenger and his men to South America where, on a great plateau, they find a prehistoric world occupied by dinosaurs and ape-like men. They barely escape with their lives, but they manage to bring a brontosaurus back to London. The beast breaks out and terrorizes the city before crashing through the London bridge and swimming out toward the ocean to freedom. In the midst of all this, Malone has fallen in love with Paula White, the daughter of an explorer (Bessie Love). Since Gladys, it turns out, has married a clerk, Malone is able to wed his new sweetheart.

This musical event from the American rock band Airborne Toxic Event captures a live performance recorded with the Calder Quartet at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Some of the tracks included in the performance include "Greg The Book of Love", "Wishing Well", and more.

With a woman this yearning is a hundred times stronger and the outcome of her torment impossible beyond measure. Radha belonged to a rich family. Her sole aim in life after becoming a widow, was to see her sone Ajit happy and fulfil the promise she had given to her husband that the family name and tradition would be perpetuated. Finding Ajit deeply in love with Shobha, the Raisaheb's daughter who too loved him no less, Radha got them married, hoping that Shobha would prove an ideal wife and daughter-in-law and their home would soon resound with merry laughter of a child, if not children. Three years went by and Radha was still waiting for the new arrival in the family. Her patience was running out. Desperate, she took Shobha to a doctor who, after prolonged examination and treatment, told her that God alone could help her fulfil her yearning for a grandchild. Radha's sorrow knows no bounds. She could not think of the family chain breaking off. She had to have a grandchild and fulfil her promise to her late husband. As a last resort, she took Shobha to Gurudev, the spiritual soul revered by the family. Gurudev had pity on Radha's plight. Taking her into confidence, he told her: ""Look, I am no miracle worker. And, as far as my knowledge goes, I am certain that your daughter-in-law is destined to remain barren.""When Shobha heard this, she was in a daze. She knew her mother-in-law's craving for a grandchild and she knew also that woman would leave no stone unturned to accomplish her objective.Life seemed to Shobha without a ray of hope for her to live. She decided to put an end to it. It was better that way, she thought, than to suffer the humiliation of being branded for ever barren. She knew how deeply her husband loved her and she could very well imagine his dilemma when forced to marry again for the sake of a child.She started walking in the direction of the fatal plunge to end all problems, to end herself. But what mere mortal can meet his or her end according to his or her own design? Destiny had other things written down for Shobha. But let that be unfolded on the screen in ""Chandan Ka Palna"" lest further knowledge of the proceedings spoil full enjoyment of the drama.

odi Breakers is a Hindi comedy film directed by Ashwini Chaudhary. The film features R. Madhavan and Bipasha Basu in the leading roles with Omi Vaidya and Dipannita Sharma in supporting roles. SYNOPSIS Sid (R. Madhavan), a bachelor works as a divorce managing officer. He meets Sonali (Bipasha Basu), who joins him in his business of splitting couples and they earn well in the process. Together, they are known as the Jodi (Couple) Breakers. Sometimes, they secretly make husband and wife fight with each other, that will result in their divorce. This happens with Marc (Milind Soman) and Maggie (Dipannita Sharma). But when Marc finds out the reason that got him and Maggie divorced, hell breaks loose.
